Here is a simple recipe for pork BBQ:

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined.
  2. Cut the pork shoulder or pork butt into large chunks, about 2 inches in size.
  3. Place the pork in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the pork, making sure that all sides are coated.
  4. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Preheat your grill or smoker to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the pork from the marinade and discard the excess liquid.
  7. Place the pork on the grill or smoker and cook for 4-5 hours, turning occasionally, until it is tender and has reached an internal temperature of at least 145°F.
  8. Let the pork rest for a few minutes before slicing or shredding it.
  9. Serve the pork BBQ with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, baked beans, or corn on the cob.
