Turon na Saging

Turon is a popular snack and dessert in the Philippines that is made with ripe saba bananas, jackfruit, and brown sugar, wrapped in a spring roll wrapper, and then fried until golden brown. Here's a recipe for making turon:

Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe saba bananas
  • 1 cup jackfruit, sliced into small pieces
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 spring roll wrappers
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Peel the saba bananas and cut them into thin slices.
  2. Lay out a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface.
  3. Place a slice of banana and a small amount of jackfruit on top of the wrapper.
  4. Sprinkle some brown sugar over the fruit.
  5. Roll the wrapper tightly around the fruit and tuck in the sides.
  6. Repeat the process until you have made as many turons as you want.
  7. Heat up some cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the turons and fry until they are golden brown on all sides.
  9. Remove the turons from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  10. Serve the turons hot and enjoy!

Optional: You can also drizzle condensed milk over the turon to add extra sweetness.
